YONGNUO YN900 CRI 95+ Wireless LED Video Light Panel LED Video Light

Impressive, as is the description, very compliant with the product.

I bought it for my own computer and photography equipment for reviewing the products I bought. You can buy it cheaply and the brightness is just right. However, the sound of the fans is noisy when it comes with heat. But it is convenient.

This is an AWESOME light. For indiefilm makers this could be a super tool! I have absolutely only 2 gripes. 1.) It doesn't come with an AC adapter. ($20 purchase) 2.) The barn doors are silver lined and they are too short to be useful. (I sprayed them black) 3.) It needs a swivel adapter (which i bought separately) Other than those few gripes, this light is great and can provide great soft light for your productions.

Works well - colors are good but not perfect. Fan noise is a problem, I have terrible ears but even for me it's way too loud. You will need to remove it in post, which is not acceptable for some clients (they rightfully expect good audio if handing footage off to them onsite). There are tutorials online for how to replace with a quieter fan, just make sure you order the right size! Overall the LED light is compact and seemingly well made for the price point. The supplied remote control is neat in principle, but it does not function reliably.

I like this LED because it's adjustable from 3000K up to 5500K I also use three fixed 5600K Yongnuo YN900 lights the adjustable color gives a great effect for subjects

Yongnuo is the best third party brand when it comes to lighting. This light is no exception. I think the next one I get though will be the YN-900 II which has the option to change the temperature. Other than that this is a great continuous light.

Perfect product!

Small and light, it easily fits into a backpack or computer bag making it perfect for onboard travel. Being very bright, we use it mainly as a key light for interviews (shooting through either a D-Fuse, umbrella or DIY modifiers). The barn doors make it easy to clip gels and diffusers. We've also used it to light a small room for run and gun type videography. The cooling fan noise has not proven to be an issue since we shoot mainly with lav mics. I would suggest getting some kind of umbrella holder adapter mount with swivel/tilt bracket for better control on a light stand. We use this in tandem with two YN-300iiis. The included remote control controls all three lights for easy on/off and dimming. Be aware the downloadable app that allows you to do the same thing via your smartphone is only available for iPhone. Be sure to purchase batteries (like the Watson NP-F975) and/or a dedicated power supply as it does not come with either.

Great value, incredibly bright, no flicker if >50% (which is >99% of the time, as it's a good key light), and easy to power with 1 or 2 NPF batteries or the available YN power cable (which I always use if indoors).

I ordered the 5500K-only versino, got it with this listing. I also agree that Yongnuo needs better model numbers. This is very similar in size and weight to the YN600, though it is a tiny tiny bit thicker, and it's a hair heavier. It is significantly brighter, it is the perfect wedding/event light as long as you put it on a stand and put it up high. Fun fact: Need a simple on-the-go case for this? An Amazon Basics 11.6" laptop case fits it perfectly (ASIN: B00CD8ADKO), as long as you don't have anything attached to it (like a cold shoe mount). PROS: 1. Color accuracy between yongnuo lights seems pretty darn spot on 2. Not very large, huge light out 3. Battery power for easier on-location use 4. Remote that can control multiple lights and seems to be radio frequency, not IR so it can be used without a direct view of the light (or inside of something like a soft box) more easily. CONS: 1. Not a studio light (the fan on it isn't silent, on-location such as weddings...NO problem. Studio with no sound other than someone talking...not the right light). If you're adventurous, you can change out the rear fan which uses micro JST connectors (if I recall correclty) and 40mm 5v fan, noctua makes a fairly silent one. 2. NOT compatible with other Yongnuo remotes as best as I can tell. The others use IR, this one uses radio frequency or bluetooth. 3. Your AC adapters for the YN600 will NOT work with this light (it's not 8V, it's 19V), batteries will however. Adapter is available but not included. 4. Appears that if one battery dies - the light goes out. There is no "half works" like there is with the yn600. I believe this is due to the voltage requirement of the yn900 vs the yn600. 5. Eats batteries for breakfast lunch and dinner at full power. Honestly, I rarely use it at full power though, at receptions I just put it on level 10 or maybe 20. I've owned both the 900 and the 600 and the 900 is the one to buy unless you need to save a few dollars. You can always turn the 900 down, you can't turn the 600 up past it's brightest though.... Overview + my general use: I use this light and usually a yn300 to light dance floors and so forth. I usually put it high in the air, 10-12' and it does add a great deal of light without ruining the ambiance that the bride and groom have set up. I've used it for photography (especially baby portraits) and other such things and it's fantastic for this too. I'd just get the daylight-only one as while the "tungsten" filter that comes with it isn't PERFECTLY tungsten, but it's pretty close. For most, it won't matter as you're using AWB or a custom white balance you're dialing in anyway. Just don't expect it to match other tungsten lights you have precisely. You can adjust brightness and you can either do that with a fairly fast adjustment (large steps in light) or you can do it with a VERY fine degree of precision. This is a huge plus in my eyes as sometimes I don't need the full output of the light and would prefer to preserve batteries. The remote that it comes with takes AAA batteries, not included. It can control several (8 from memory) of these lights. The only disappointing thing is that I have yet to figure out if it's possible to use this remote with my older YN lights, or vice versa (update: it isn't). However, since they use fundamentally different technologies As with the YN600 and 300s...probably just rip off the barn doors as they're mostly useless. Keep the clear "diffuser" panel to protect the LEDs in transit and that's about all that's good for though it does diffuse the light to some small degree. You can also modify a softbox to use these inside of those. I've done this successfully with speedboxes and octoboxes.

Takes about 20 minutes for removal of all 32 micro-pieces to unattach the 4 barn-doors—light is phenomenal.

It works very well. Very powerful light! I find myself using a white paper towel to diffuse more light and lower the intensity. I don't think the flaps are all that useful. They seem to be in the way all the time. I don't recommend going cheap. This is not an ad for Sony, but you have to buy their batteries and chargers. I spend more time and money looking for cheaper alternatives when I should have just bought the actual Sony units. It does push the total cost to almost 2x or more than this light, but you are paying for a mobile light solution. I have had no issues other than finding a proper, compact stand for this light. It is a much bigger unit than I had anticipated.

This little guy is going to be great for mobile video shoots. For the last 4 years I have been hauling large soft boxes around which I don't dare take apart lol. To give you an idea of this lights brightness, the YN900 is about 1 stop brighter than my 5 bulb CFL (45 watt each) softbox. The light is not as soft in the Dfuse mini soft boxes as the large cfl boxes but that is to be expected. The fan on mine is actually not that loud, like I was kinda surprised after all the reviews. Attached are some pics for your reference. Gh4 was at 2.8 iso 400. It was custom white balanced to the cfl which is a little more orange than the led.

Very high light output! I haven't used it enough to turn the fan on but if it indeed is too loud, there is a video on YouTube that demonstrates how to replace it with a silent one.

These lights have an AMAZING output level.. unbelieveable for it's size.. it's also battery operated and/or DC adaptor operated.. I opted for the 5500K version instead of the adjustable.. because it comes with 3200K diffused Gels which are awesome, and you don't lose half your light output by purchasing the adjustable.

This is superb. it has saved me countless times in low light situation

Very happy with the light, great quality, good price and exactly what I am looking for as a overhead boom light with the remote to control on of or deem.
